What is a Farm Crawl?
We’re glad you asked!

Spend a day exploring

Visit Oconee County’s finest local farms and homesteads connecting with the people who grow your food, raise animals, and steward the land you love.

The Farm Crawl is a self-paced tour where the participants drive themselves from farm to farm. You choose what farms to visit and in what order. You also choose how much time to spend at each farm.

You will receive a map and descriptions of each farm when you check in at one of three check in locations throughout Oconee county.

Each farm or homestead will have their own activities to offer on the day of the event, which may include farm products for sale, tours, Q&A’s, demos and maybe even a hayride or two.

What should I expect?

  • Farm Etiquette

Each farm sets its own guidelines, and many of these beautiful places are also the farmers’ homes. We kindly ask that you help us care for these spaces by respecting their land, animals, and daily work.

    • Please enjoy the farm as it is and avoid opening gates or crossing fences, which are there for everyone’s safety.

    • Animals are part of the farmers’ livelihood, so please admire them from a distance unless a farmer invites you to interact.

    • Tractors and farm equipment are essential tools, so we ask that you not climb on or explore them.

    • To help protect the health of the animals, crops, and the farms themselves, some farms may have simple biosecurity practices in place, such as using boot covers or cleaning shoes before entering certain areas. We appreciate your willingness to follow any farm-specific guidelines shared during your visit.

Thank you for helping us create a safe, respectful, and enjoyable experience for both our guests and our farm hosts. We’re so grateful to have you join us!

  • What To Bring

This fun-filled day is a rain or shine event, with most activities taking place outdoors. To help you have the best experience possible, we recommend bringing:

    • Sunscreen

    • Bug spray

    • Refillable water bottles

    • Mud boots or comfortable outdoor shoes

    • A cooler for any farm goodies you purchase along the way

    • An umbrella

Most importantly, bring an open mind for adventure and fun!

Children are welcome and encouraged to join the fun. To help keep everyone safe on these working farms, we kindly ask that dogs and other pets stay at home.

  • Food & Drink

We encourage you to support local during your adventure. Many of our farms will be hosting food trucks, farm stands, and local vendors, so bring your appetite and enjoy the best our community has to offer!

Additional details on food options will be updated closer to the event.

Most of all, bring your smile and get ready for a fun-filled day on the farm!

Help us spread the word!
