Join Brian Marshall of Greenfield Organic Farms for a hands-on workshop all about growing fresh vegetables through the winter and getting a head start on your spring garden!

Believe it or not, Greenfield Organic Farms grows more vegetables in the winter than in the summer. Brian will show you how, with the right timing and a few simple steps, you can enjoy fresh vegetables nearly year-round.

You’ll learn:

  • The best vegetables to grow through the winter

  • When to plant and what “overwintering” means

  • First and last frost dates and why the solstice matters

  • Frost protection and simple DIY low tunnels

  • Winter watering and garden care

  • How to extend your growing season with “shoulder season” crops

  • When to start your spring garden for the best results

We’ll also talk about what you can do right now to prepare your garden for spring, including stale seed beds, silage tarps, building organic matter, and feeding your soil through the winter.

And you won’t leave empty-handed! Each participant will take home some of Greenfield Organic Farms’ favorite winter plants to grow in your own garden.

Come learn from a local farmer and discover just how much your garden can produce beyond the traditional summer growing season!
